Ram Builds on the Class-Leading ProMaster Lineup With Improved Capability

By Justin Cupler | June 29th, 2018

Ram has gained much of the commercial van market with its popular ProMaster lineup. But it wanted more, so it will rework these popular work vans and release a more capable and stylish Ram ProMaster lineup.

Before tearing into the updates to its ability to handle heavy-duty work, the first thing buyers will notice on the 2019 Ram ProMaster lineup is a refreshed face. This will include a new front grille and “Ram” lettering to match its pickup truck siblings, new black bumpers and side panels, and optional black steel wheels. Plus, buyers will also have the option to add polycarbonate side rear windows on the high-roof models and steel grates on the low-roof models.

Inside, buyers will notice new available LED lighting that is 20 times brighter than the standard halogen bulbs. Plus, there are available integrated motion sensors.

Besides the new looks, the 2019 Ram ProMaster will have three all-new variants. These include the 2500 Cargo Van 136-inch wheelbase low roof, 3500 Cargo Van 136-inch wheelbase low roof, and 3500 Cargo Van 136-inch wheelbase high roof.

But what will really separate the 2019 Ram ProMaster lineup from the current one are its class-leading numbers. Payload capacity will be up as much as 240 pounds to 4,000 pounds in the 1500 model, 4,230 pounds in the 2500, and 4,680 pounds in the 3500. The latter number marks the best in the class. Towing will also be up 30 percent to up to 6,800 pounds. To help best use this new capacity, Ram will add an optional Trailer-Tow Group that includes a Class IV receiver with a four- and seven-pin wiring harness.

The 2019 Ram ProMaster is in production now at the Saltillo Van Assembly Plant, and should be available here at Garber Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram soon. Pricing will start from $30,195 plus $1,645 destination fee for the 2019 Ram ProMaster 1500 Cargo Van 118-in low roof model. You can check out our full ProMaster lineup online today.
