Details and Pricing Release on the New Ram 1500 EcoDiesel

By Justin Cupler | August 29th, 2019

The EcoDiesel engine will soon make its triumphant return to the Ram 1500 lineup, marking the brand’s commitment to delivering superior fuel economy and capability. Recently, Ram released all the official details on this new diesel unit, and we have the scoop for our Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland area shoppers.

The third-generation 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine will hit the Saginaw area with 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque, which are increases of 8% and 14%, respectively. This will allow the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel to tow up to class-leading 12,560 pounds.

While its power and towing capacity are stellar, this diesel V-6, like all other light-duty diesel engines, will focus on fuel economy with standard air suspension that lowers the ride height for better aerodynamics and raises it for better off-road abilities. Official fuel economy numbers will arrive closer to the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel’s arrival.

The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine will carry a $36,890 entry fee in the Tradesman Quad Cab model with two-wheel drive, which is a $4,995 premium. Models that come standard with the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 eTorque, including the Rebel trim for the first time, will require a $3,000 premium to swap it out for the EcoDiesel engine.

Prefer the last-generation Ram 1500 look? Buyers will be able to get this new diesel engine in the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. Pricing will start from $39,140 in the Crew Cab two-wheel-drive model.

The new EcoDiesel V-6 engine will be available in the fourth quarter of 2019. Keep an eye on our online inventory page to be the first to know when it’s available for our Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland area shoppers.
