Exterior

The 2019 Chrysler 300 is distinctly American with its classic three-box design that features an upright nose, bold grille, and squared shoulders. There is no mistaking this all-American sedan for anything else on the road. When you move into the Limited and C trim levels, it boasts outright luxury features, like 20-inch polished-aluminum wheels.

Next to the 2019 Chrysler 300, the 2019 Cadillac XTS looks like a spaceship with its swooping roofline, wild headlights, massive chrome grille, and chiseled body lines. While this may be too much style for some buyers, there is no denying this is one amazing-looking piece of machinery. Plus, it is a legit luxury car, so it boasts premium features from start to finish.

Its simplicity will endear itself to crowds who miss the old days without turning off younger buyers, thanks to its Uconnect 8.4-inch infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Performance

Like many large luxury cars, the 2019 Chrysler 300 and the 2019 Cadillac XTS come standard with V-6 engines and boast more powerful engines in higher trims. Both sedans feature 3.6-liter V-6 engines in their base trims, but the XTS has a small power advantage.

Moving up from its base V-6, the 300 gains a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with 363 horsepower. This launches the 300 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. The XTS goes in a different direction for power with its twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 in the V-Sport Platinum that injects 410 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque for a 5.2-second sprint to 60 mph.

The Chrysler 300 boasts a more traditional rear-wheel-drive setup, while the XTS uses a front-wheel-drive platform. Both base V-6 models are available with all-wheel drive for enhanced grip. The XTS V-Sport Platinum comes standard with all-wheel drive, but buyers cannot combine the 5.7-liter V-8 engine in the 300 with all-wheel drive.
